Athena has achieved a significant milestone in Ring of Honor history by becoming the longest-reigning Women’s World Champion, with a reign of 646 days. This makes her the longest-reigning champion in ROH history, surpassing the reign of any other champion, regardless of gender as her current reign exceeds the 645-day reign of Samoa Joe as ROH World Champion from 2003 to 2004.
Joe became the third Ring of Honor World Champion when he defeated Xavier at Night Of Champions in March 2003. Austin Aries ended his historic reign at Final Battle in December of 2004. Athena's achievement in Ring of Honor was celebrated yesterday on Social media.
Joe would also have another lengthy title reign when he held the World Television Champion for 574 days after beating Minoru Suzuki in 2022. He vacated the title after 18 successful defenses.
