DIY Knock Off A-Town Down Under, New WWE Tag Team Champions

The WWE Tag Team Championships were on the line on Friday Night SmackDown's main event, as Austin Theory and Grayson Waller looked to continue their successful partnership and Championship reign. To do that they would need to defeat Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano of DIY, who have been appealing to Theory over the past few weeks about how Waller is using him to keep the Titles. Tonight they all met in the ring, and throughout the match, Waller displayed those tendencies time and time again. Despite that, Theory saved the match for Waller by putting his foot on the rope as he was about to be pinned. He couldn't save the match twice though, as Gargano locked Waller in a submission that led to a tapout, making DIY the new WWE Tag Team Champions. You can see the clip from Friday night down below.

This is DIY's first main title win since being moved up to the main roster. What made this win even more bittersweet, was that this was the same building the duo won the NXT Tag Team Titles back in 2016. and they used the same submission combination to capture the gold as well. We are very excited to see DIY as Tag Team Champions and hope this will mean we shall see more tag title matches on PLE's.
