Tessa Blanchard, one of wrestling’s most controversial figures, is reportedly set to return to TNA for a high-profile feud. Blanchard, who famously held the Impact World Heavyweight Championship during the pandemic, had a tumultuous exit from the company after a falling out led to her being stripped of the title and parting ways.
Following her TNA departure, Blanchard had a brief stint with WOW Women of Wrestling, which also ended on rocky terms. Now, it seems she’s heading back to the company where she once made history, and the wrestling world is eager to see how her return unfolds.
Dave Meltzer revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “the belief is Blanchard has signed here, which explains her not being in CMLL the last few weeks.” This news comes after Blanchard and Luvia won the CMLL Women’s Tag Team Titles following Stephanie Vaquer’s departure to WWE. However, Blanchard is leaving CMLL despite being one-half of the champions.
According to Meltzer, Blanchard’s return to TNA will likely involve a short program with Jordynne Grace, who is rumored to be heading to WWE when her current contract expires. “The belief is that she’ll debut in Atlanta, do a quick program with Jordynne Grace, with Grace then leaving for WWE… But I was told Blanchard having signed is confirmed,” Meltzer stated.
Blanchard’s TNA comeback comes as the promotion gears up for its Final Resolution event tonight and TV tapings this weekend in Atlanta. Whether her return will reignite old rivalries or create new ones remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Blanchard’s presence in TNA is bound to turn heads.
