WWE Superstar Lyra Valkyria gets engaged to her longtime love

Many fans were surprised and thrilled on Saturday when word came that WWE’s Lyra Valkyria had gotten engaged to fellow Irish wrestler LJ Cleary. Cleary shared the exciting announcement on his Instagram, posting a photo of the joyful couple along with a touching message:

Cleary also posted a picture of a smiling Valkyria next to a bed of roses that read, “Will you marry me?” In a photo with Cleary, Valkyria is seen showing off her engagement ring.

Valkyria’s engagement comes during a standout year in her wrestling career. In April, the former NXT Women’s Champion was promoted to Raw during the 2024 WWE Draft. Soon after, she made waves in the Queen of the Ring tournament, scoring wins against Dakota Kai, Zoey Stark, and Iyo Sky to reach the finals. Although she ultimately lost to Nia Jax, Valkyria had a spirited performance that she felt proved she belonged on WWE’s grand stage.

“I know now I belong in that spot,” said Valkyria after the match. “I know now that I can hang with the very best. This is just the start of Lyra Valkyria’s journey. I’ll get back to where I was. And next time, next time I get a shot, I’ll make sure I come out on top.”

Just last Monday on Raw, Valkyria teamed with Natalya and Zelina Vega to defeat the Pure Fusion Collective (Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, and Zoey Stark). But perhaps her biggest win came this weekend when she said yes to her longtime love.
