Late February/ early March 2024 video game, DLC/ full game reviews

The last few months have been amazing for the fighting game industry, but lets take a bit of a deeper dive into some of the most recent ones, and there DLC Packs.

TEKKEN 8

At this point, we are still waiting on  Eddy Gordo’s full drop, but the auditions for the game have sent shockwaves. The Tekken Shop with microtransactions may not be one of the most favored features, but each skin is more the price of MK1 at $4 each, however, the lowest amount of Tekken Coins for purchase is $50. it does provide classic skins throughout the franchise, but we need it for our avatars. 

The actual gameplay hasn’t truly been affected as much. Characters that didn’t need to get buffed got buffed, and there were several game-breaking bug fixes addressed and more to come. Still, within the first month and a half of its global release, Tekken 8 has already sold over 2 million copies and targets all audiences.

Mortal Kombat 1 - Peacemaker | Invasions Season & Kombat League

This will always be a hard game to rate and a hard game to review as you can’t, do it fully without offending someone. John Cena actually voiced the character and from what I have heard, the personality matches the show. Good news he is not a zoner and actually grappler. He is definitely a mid range fighter in game, but it doesn’t hinder me wanting to play the character. 

In contrast, this season of Kombat League and Invasions is centered around if Melinna was an Aztec warrior. Not even some of the biggest Molina fans like her look in the Kombat League or Invasions.

Street Fighter 6 - ED DLC

There’s not that much to say about this character, because he plays similarly to how he played in Street Fighter V, except now he is a full boxer character. For those wanting to get into classic controls with the game, he is the perfect character as his inputs are super simple with a psycho upper.  

To get him as a mentor in World Tour mode you have to get to the Nayshall chapters before going to the Metro City Subway Station.

WWE 2K24 full Release

I was greeted by its tutorial that made me dread playing showcase mode with the amount of loading screens. Lot change in set dressing, but the game feels like 2K23.5 in Several ways. Yes there were a lot of updates to the game, but the core of it stayed massively the same last year’s game.
